Awal Kanak-Kanak Pendidikan Pengijazahan Jamiyah ini 2016

Jamiyah Singapore’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) centres had their graduation concert and exhibition at Marine Parade Community Centre on Sunday, 20th November 2016.

60 K2 children from Jamiyah Childcare Centre (JCCC), Jamiyah Kindergarten (JK) and Global Child Development Centre (GCDC) received a certificate for the completion of their preschool education. Children from each centre also performed a musical fable themed, ‘Gracious Hearts, Loving World’ for the concert.

This year’s theme is in line with ECE’s aim to inculcate the values of sharing, being kind, respecting others, acceptance and filial piety in children from a very young age.

The children from JCCC performed the traditional tale of ‘Tanggang’, highlighting the values of filial piety; JK performed, ‘The Stone Soup’ – a story about the town people who refused to share their food with the travelers, who then taught them the beauty of sharing and caring. GCDC chose the story, ‘The Magic of Kindness’, one that revolves around an evil queen that ruled her kingdom by being mean, only to be enlightened by kindness that changed her life.

“We are always reminded through the theme that we have today, that all of us here, as parents and members of the community play an important role to build a more gracious, a more peaceful and a more harmonious world. Especially in this globalized world today, we are always easily connected to other parts of the world, and easily influenced by the internet.” said Dr Koh Poh Koon, Minister of State, Ministry of National Development & Ministry of Trade & Industry, and Member of Parliament of Ang Mo Kio GRC, in his speech.

Dr Koh Poh Koon was the Guest-of-Honour at the occasion.

After the event, parents and invited guests visited the exhibition that showcased some of the works by the children.
