Centre Of Home Kecemerlangan @Jamiyah Kanak-kanak

Jamiyah Children’s Home (Darul Ma’wa) launched their Centre of Excellence (COE) last Saturday, 26th March 2016. Some 250 invited guests were present to celebrate the start of an exciting journey that is beyond the academic focus for the children.

COE is a new initiative of Darul Ma’wa and aimed to discover talents and skills of the children. Offering four academies, Sports, Music, Batik and the Performing Arts, these activities are also meant for enhancing the talents and discipline of the children of Darul Ma’wa.

“They are able to learn the values and importance of sharing, caring and group work.” said Mdm Som Said, the mentor for the Performing Arts Academy of COE.

Mdm Som Said, a Cultural Medallion recipient, former professional footballer, Mr Aide Iskandar, internationally renowned batik artist, Mr Sarkasi Said and Music maestro, Mr Baharudin Ismail are the mentors of the various Academies of COE.

Darul Ma’wa is grateful for the privilege of having these experts to guide and nurture the children in the respective fields.

“This initiative is in line with the vision of Darul Ma’wa, which provides the best of care for the children.” shared Mr Mohd Yunos Mohd Shariff, chairman of Darul Ma’wa.

The event was graced by Guest-of-Honour, Assoc Prof Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education & Ministry of Social and Family Development.
