Staff and volunteers of Jamiyah Singapore participated in People’s Association Youth Movement Community Walk 2016 on the morning of National Day. The walk was officiated by Guest-of-Honour, Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong, and covered the route from Teck Ghee Community Centre to Townsville Primary where the National Day Observation Ceremony was held.

The observation ceremony saw performances from various schools around the neighbourhood such as Teck Ghee Primary School and Chong Boon Secondary School, whose orchestra band provided the tune to the national anthem that day. Teck Ghee Community Centre’s volunteers also headed the sing-a-long to a few national day songs.

Everyone present had a great time celebrating the nation’s 51^st birthday and the ceremony ended with a cake-cutting session on stage with Mr Lee.
